Bear Boring can turn/face/bore/thread a wide range of sizes. We can work from machine prints as well as casting prints (with specified instruction). Our machines are ISO9001-certified from manufacturer and have Newall Digital Measuring systems, holding extremely close tolerances to provide precision output.

Barry Simmons
Barry Simmons (Bear) is a top-notch machine designer/builder with over 30 years experience in small to heavy specialty parts, structural and machinery fabrication covering all aspects from design and design implementation to tear-down and build/assembly/rebuild/modify. Bear also has extensive experience in practical and reverse R&D for a wide variety of applications.
Extensive experience in metal fabrication has served him well in the designing and building of specialty parts and machinery. He has considerable practical design experience and is currently finishing design and prototype fabrication for several biofuel and Alternative Energy Applications. In his 20 years as a Machine Builder/machinist in Chicago, Bear successfully re-engineered many machine design issues to increase efficiency in practical application for the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries.
As co-owner of Bear Boring, Bear has a solid reputation for excellence in design and fabrication and retrofit, producing many innovative fixtures and toolings for local and national manufacturing, construction and alternative energy/Biofuel/Biomass/wind construction and operation.
Bear is currently in the final stages of designing a prototype individual wind turbine for use in small to midsize suburban and urban homes/properties.
